Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What kind of fabrics do you sell?
We specialize in handwoven textiles made by local artisans across Nigeria. Our fabrics include single-tone weaves, dual-tone blends, metallic-infused textiles, and a variety of patterned designs.

Are all your fabrics handwoven?
Yes. Every piece we offer is made using traditional handweaving techniques, preserving the authenticity and cultural significance of the craft.

Where are the fabrics woven?
Our textiles are woven by skilled artisans in different weaving communities across Nigeria including the South West, South East, and Northern regions.

How do I know the fabric quality is good?
Our textiles are made from carefully sourced, high-quality yarns and go through strict quality control before they are shipped out. We’ve worked with top brands and designers who trust our quality.

Can I request a sample before ordering?
Yes, we offer sample swatches for selected fabrics. You can request a sample via our product page or by booking a consultation.

Do you sell by the yard or in bundles?
We sell by the yard. Each product listing specifies the minimum order quantity and available yardage.

Can I request a specific color or design?
Absolutely. If you have a specific vision in mind, you can request a custom weave through our Design Direction Request or by booking a consultation.

Do you take bulk or wholesale orders?
Yes, we do. If you’re a designer, brand, or organization looking to place a bulk order, please contact us for a custom quote.

Can I order a previously sold-out pattern or colour?
In most cases, yes. Since our textiles are made to order, many past patterns and colourways can be reproduced on request.

How long does it take to produce a custom fabric?
Custom production takes between 2 to 5 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design and the number of yards required.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit/debit cards, direct bank transfers, and mobile payments (within Nigeria).

Do you offer payment plans or Pay Later options?
Currently, we do not offer payment plans, but we’re working on flexible options for our customers.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping rates and delivery timelines are calculated at checkout based on your location.

How long does delivery take?
For ready-to-ship fabrics, delivery within Nigeria takes 2–5 business days, and 7–14 business days for international orders. Custom orders follow a longer lead time based on production.

Will I get a tracking number?
Yes, once your order is shipped, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your tracking information.

Can I return a fabric if I change my mind?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of our made-to-order system, we do not accept returns unless the fabric is damaged or incorrect.

What if I receive a defective or wrong fabric?
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos. We will arrange a replacement or refund.

How do I care for handwoven fabric?
We recommend gentle handwashing in cold water or dry cleaning for best results. Avoid harsh detergents or direct sunlight to preserve colour.

Can these fabrics be used for clothing and upholstery?
Yes! Our fabrics are versatile, ideal for clothing, accessories, homeware, and even light upholstery. If you’re unsure, contact us for guidance on the best fabric weight for your use.

Will the fabric shrink or bleed colour?
Our textiles are pre-treated to minimize shrinkage and colour bleeding, but we always recommend a test wash if you’re unsure.

What makes your brand sustainable?
We operate on a made-to-order model, minimizing waste and excess. Our supply chain supports artisan communities and preserves traditional craftsmanship.

Do you work directly with artisans?
Yes. We partner directly with weaving communities, ensuring fair wages and ethical production practices.

How does buying from Woven Market Africa impact local communities?
Every purchase supports a network of local artisans, empowers women in weaving communities, and helps pass down generational knowledge.

I’m not sure what to choose. Can I get help?
Of course! You can book a 1-on-1 consultation to guide you through our fabrics, colours, and custom options. We’re happy to help with styling, use cases, and more.

Can I see physical samples in person?
If you’re based in Lagos, we occasionally host pop-ups and fabric viewing days. Sign up for our newsletter or follow us on Instagram to stay informed.
